Angels release future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols

The Los Angeles Angels have lost four straight games to fall to 13-16 on the season, and future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols is slashing only .198/.250/.372 with five home runs and 12 RBI.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Angels confirmed ahead of Thursday’s game versus the Tampa Bay Rays that they’ve parted ways with Pujols.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the 41-year-old who is fifth on the all-time list with 667 career home runs does not want to be a mere spectator inside dugouts this summer.
